Preparations Before Excavator Work

January 25, 2022

Before entering the site, you must have a clear understanding of the construction conditions and tasks. Once on site, you must strictly follow the relevant safety regulations. Construction conditions and tasks include soil elevation and excavation depth, underground cables, various pipes, slope gradients and steel wire heights, graves, tunnels, and various obstacles.

Check to see if the switch contacts and circuit insulation are in good condition.

Check to see if there is enough fuel, lubricating oil, and cooling water. If levels are low, top them off. Do not smoke or approach an open flame while refueling to prevent a fire.

Check the hydraulic system, operating valves, working cylinders, oil pumps, and other pipelines for leaks, and determine whether their operation is abnormal.

Check to make sure the wire rope clamp and the fixed wire rope are secure and reliable.

Digging when working on rocky or frozen soil.

Check, maintain, adjust, and tighten the excavator in accordance with the daily maintenance checklist.

Set the main clutch lever to the "neutral" position and start the engine. (If the machine is hand-cranked, be careful not to injure yourself with the handle; if it is rope-started, do not wrap the rope around your hands.) Check that the instrument panel, drive mechanism, working unit, and brake mechanism are in good working order, and verify that everything is correct before starting work.

Once the engine has been started, it is strictly prohibited to stand on the buckets, handrails, rails, or sheds.
